All of the controls are on the front of the unit, and they are clearly labeled for you to operate. On the back of the unit you can view the batter light that will let you know if you are in need of charging your iPod. Your iPod battery should last about 12 hours if it is fully charged. Apple has revolutionized the electronics industry and their iPod family has certainly been a big part of that.
